Native of the Rio Grande Valley in Texas and son of Gilberto Cavazos DeLeon and María Emma González de Cavazos.
Franciscan scholar, Associate Professor of Spirituality and D Hijo de Gilberto Cavazos DeLeon and María Emma González de Cavazos irector of the Hispanic Theology and Ministry Program at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
As a Latino Spiritualogian, I have a particular concern for the relationship of Christian spirituality, Catholic social teaching and pastoral ministry. My academic research interests include methods for the study of Christian Spirituality, medieval spirituality, Franciscanism, and both the Spanish and Mesoamerican roots of contemporary Hispanic/Latin@ spirituality.
